Bellmont head coach Mindy Buuck could not have asked for more than the product the Bellmont Braves put on the diamond Tuesday night at the Yorktown Sports Complex against the state’s #1 team. The Tigers prevailed with a pair of long home runs, but just like the second half of the Bellmont season, the Braves never stopped showing heart.
Returning to the same field where this year’s seniors had suffered heartbreak against the Tigers back in 2019, the odds were against the Braves from the outset. Senior Yorktown hurler Alanah Jones is one of the best pitchers in the northern half of the state and she showed it again Tuesday evening, recording her first nine outs by strikeout.
