AC Disney team

The Adams Central Jets Disney Duals team finished sixth in their division this weekend.

A caravan of Adams Central wrestlers, coaches and families traveled all the way to Florida to take part in the AAU Scholastic Disney Duals and the team of Jets, with a few extras mixed in, returned to the Hoosier state Monday with a sixth-place finish in their division.

While coach Tony Currie got strong performances from his usual studs, the tournament was also a breakout for incoming freshman Maverick Dubach, who started the tournament 5-0 and finished the weekend with a 9-3 record. One of those losses came to a greco state champion from Pennsylvania.

“Mav had a great tournament,” gleamed Currie. “9-3 as an incoming freshman was an awesome performance. Especially at weights like 120 and 126. He showed solid mat awareness and body control all weekend long.”
