Delaney Dunnuck’s first field goal of the game was a big one. The senior forward hit a soft jumper from the left block to put South Adams ahead 47-45 with 22 seconds left in overtime in the Starfires’ 48-45 win on the road against Blackhawk Christian Thursday night.
The jumper was set up nicely by a drive and dish by Macy Pries.Â
The Starfires (7-3) had taken a 37-28 advantage, their biggest of the game, at the 6:46 mark of the fourth quarter on a steal and layup by Peyton Pries, but the Braves (5-3) went on a 10-0 run to snatch the lead at 38-37. The final blow of the run was Avery Ellsworth’s three-pointer from the top of the key with 3:35 left.
