Nationally acclaimed quartet to appear at Gospel Barn

Staff Writer

A quartet that has been named the nation’s best four years in a row — Triumphant Quartet — will appear at 2 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Gospel Barn of Bluffton. The group, which is based in Sevierville, Tennessee, will make its second appearance at the Gospel Barn.
Scheduling Triumphant has been a priority for the last several years, according to Jim Loving, manager of the Gospel Barn.
“My partners and I (members of the Shane Brothers Quartet based in Bluffton) have always felt that our fans would love the excellence of this group,” said Loving.
Indeed, since the group’s founding in 2002, accolades have inundated the group.  In 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012, Triumphant was voted by the “Singing News” fan awards as Favorite Male Quartet of the year for the fourth consecutive year. In addition to that honor, Eric Bennett was voted Favorite Bass Singer of the Year in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.
Also in 2009, Triumphant received a Grammy nomination for Best Southern, Country or Bluegrass Gospel Album, for their release, “Everyday.”
In 2011, the quartet’s song, “Love Came Calling,” was named Favorite song of the Year, as well as favorite Album of the Year by the Singing news magazine.  “Love Came Calling” features the group’s unmistakable quartet harmony.
The Gospel Barn of Bluffton is located three miles south of Bluffton on S.R. 1. Doors open around noon. for this concert. This is a general admission concert: $10 at the door plus a love offering. For more information, call Loving at 765-564-6095, or visit
