The transformation of the Council on Aging’s vehicular service to a County-wide public transportation service has taken its next step towards becoming a reality. Executive Director of the Council on Aging Michelle Lengerich, County Commissioner President Stan Stoppenhagen, and local attorney Clayton Lengerich approached the Decatur City Council on Tuesday night to discuss the benefits of the coming system.

“I sit on the community corrections board and you hear that some of the people miss their appointments and get violations because of lack of transportation. There is definitely a need for public transportation, I have met people walking around town who were not from here that were surprised that we did not have that option. This is a needed asset in our community.”
