Nan Everett

After half a century of contributions to the community in the Parks and Recreation Department, Nan Everett was recognized in front of a full crowd of supporters at Tuesday night’s city council meeting. She locked up the doors at the Riverside Center for the final time on April 28th as the Leisure Services Manager, a position in which she led gymnastics classes, swimming lessons, and numerous other activities for the community.

Everett joined the Parks and Recreation team as a seasonal employee in July of 1978 and began working full time with the department in September of 1979. Throughout that time she remained a certified swim instructor and lifeguard and operated as the aquatics director. Her gymnastics lessons spanned past tumbling, as she taught advanced courses and adult fitness that instilled skills for people of all ages.
