By the 14th event, both the girls and boys swim teams were nearly tied with their Jay County opponents. Coach Andy Lehman knew that his teams were front loaded, he had just hoped he could gain a lead that the Patriots couldn’t overtake.
The men fell 73-97 while the women had a slightly larger gap at 65-97.
The biggest difference between the two ACAC schools wasn’t the talent, but rather the numbers, according to Lehman.
“I’m feeling really good about this meet. We just don’t have the numbers to fill lanes. They swam 17 guys tonight, I had 10. Talent wise, my kids swam really well tonight!”
Lehman said his teams had several personal bests, and that his men already have shown improvement in just their second meet. “We made changes to our lineup and I think we benefitted from that.”
