Seniors pave the way for Bellmont over Jay-Co, 4-1

Bellmont coach Ben Fawbush put all seven of his seniors in the starting lineup for the entire game on Thursday night against Jay County for the Braves' final home game and the leaders of the team stepped up big landing BHS a 4-1 win over the Patriots.
Senior night lived up to the expectations of the fans led by a seven inning complete game win for Dylan Call who struck out the final four batters he faced to put an exclamation point on the victory.
What can i say? Tonight was the seniors' night to shine and man they made it count!" praised coach Fawbush after the game. "Dylan threw well and hit well. He got himself in some jams, but fought hard and got himself out of them. In that last inning he wanted to do it all himself and he did. What a performance in the 7th!"
Bellmont struck first with two runs in the second inning when Jordan Jauregui legged out an infield single. Call would execute one of two great bunts at the plate to move him to second and then Matt Chronister blasted a double to the right field corner scoring Jauregui from second.
Nick Reinking would keep the senior parade going with a single to right field scoring Chroni from second base giving Bellmont a 2-0 advantage.
Alex Dunn was hit by a Call pitch in the top of the third with one out putting a Patriot runner on base. Dunn would steal second and third to move into position. After a groundout, Jason Houston singled in Dunn making it 2-1.
The next three innings went back and forth between Call and Houston, Jay County's starting pitcher, as both locked in and shut down the opposing batters in a duel.
In the Patriot sixth, Houston singled again with one out, then Tanner Reynolds drew a walk to put two runners on. Call would get Toby McCallister to ground into a fielder's choice to Reinking at third base getting the lead runner out.
