Plea deal set in Berne murder

    A Berne man charged with murder has entered into a plea agreement in the Sept. 12, 2019, stabbing death of 34-year-old Kayla Bentley.
    According to a news release from Adams County Prosecutor Jeremy Brown, Austin S. Griffith, 35, pleaded guilty but mentally ill Oct. 9 as part of a plea agreement. The plea agreement calls for Griffiths to serve 55 years of the maximum 65 year sentence. He may request a sentence modification after he has served 45 years.
