Adams County Coroner Leslie Cook said Sam S.M. Girod, Geneva, died from a single gunshot to the torso area.
Police were dispatched at 3:39 p.m. Wednesday to an unknown injury at 2749E C.R. 800S. When police arrived, they discovered Girod had been shot, and paramedics on-scene confirmed the boy was deceased, according to a news release. Girod was reportedly accidentally shot by a minor sibling.
