    First came the Little Free Library, offering residents young and young-at-heart the opportunity to borrow books free of charge from locations throughout the city.
    Now, North Adams has added a Bookmobile to the equation, which will be utilized over the summer in conjunction with the free summer food program.
    Director of Curriculum/Programs/Assessments, Olivia Valencic-Miller, told the board of education May 9 the Bookmobile will be at various locations throughout the summer. "(Business Manager Larry Carty) is letting us use one of the vans," she said.
    The district is still accepting donations for both the Bookmobile and the Little Free Library.
    Members of the community are invited to stop by any one of five locations around Decatur, take a book (or two) and read it. After the book has been read, books may be returned to any location for another person to pick up. Hundreds of book titles are available in all reading levels — early/young reader to adult. Readers do not need a library card to access books.

Little Free Library Locations in Decatur:
    • Southeast Elementary School – 901 Everhart Drive;
    • Northwest Elementary School – 1109 Dayton Avenue;
    • Bellmont Middle School – in the front, main visitor entrance off Piqua Road;

    • Krueckeberg Auction & Realty — 1030 S. 13th St.
    “We have had people ask us if we can place a Little Free Library outside of their business,” Superintendent Brent Lehman said at a prior board meeting. “The answer is yes. We are working on additional funding and ways to increase the visibility and opportunities for our community to access books and we would be happy to partner with businesses wanting to do that.”
