Local students holding donation drive

    Two local juniors, Avree Armes of Adams Central Community Schools and Blake Gilbert of South Adams Schools, will host a donation drive for Energized By Ebony from 4-6 p.m. Saturday at the Monroe Fire Station.
    Both students attended the HOBY Indiana Leadership seminar over the summer at the University of Indianapolis. After they attended, they were challenged to host a regional community service project. Together they chose this non-profit organization based out of Decatur. Energized By Ebony creates activity bags to help relieve some of the stress during hospital stays.     
    Items needed are:
    Activity books; various sizes of baggies; book lights; bracelets; small containers of bubbles; card games; bracelets; colored pencils; coloring books; coloring kits; construction paper; craft items; crayons; flashlight/batteries; foam craft kits; folders; glow wands; glue sticks; handheld games; small hand sanitizers; highlighters; iTunes gift cards; jewelry kits; journals; kid socks; small LEGO sets; small lotions; markers; matchbox cars; nail clippers; nail files; nail polish; note card/envelopes; notebooks; paint kits; paper; pencil boxes; erasers; pencil pouches; pencil sharpeners; pens; plain gift bags; Play Dough; postage stamps; Post-It notes; puzzles; rulers; sand art kits; all size scissors; scotch tape; slinkys; and toys that will fit on a hospital tray.
    Armes and Gilbert will also accept cash donations if those donating do not wish to shop themselves for items.
