Decatur City Council

    The Decatur City Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the City Hall building.
Items on the agenda a resolution for loan to Redevelopment Commission, a proclamation for “Conquer Chiari Walk,” flood volunteer celebration, reports from the mayor and department heads and comments from members of council and the public.


    The Adams County Commissioners will meet at 10 a.m. Monday in the commission/council chambers of the Service Complex.
    Auditor Mary Beery will be the first to address commissioners, followed by County Engineer and Highway Department Superintendent Tim Barkey and Building and Grounds Manager Dave Meyer. Clerk of Courts Jim Voglewede is on the agenda at 10:35 a.m. to discuss “Maximus Services, 4D amendment to a contract signed in 2009,” adding an ending date to the contract.
    The weekly judicial center update is scheduled for 10:45 a.m., with commissioner’s open office hours to follow adjournment of the regular meeting.

Solid waste

    The Adams County Solid Waste Management District Board will conduct its next meeting at 8 a.m. Monday in the commission/council chambers.
    Controller Becky Cochran will present a financial report for both May and June, and the review and approval of claims against the board and payroll. No items are listed under either old or new business.  
    Director Hank Mayer will present his  2016 budget proposal, and report on a meeting with the Indiana Department of Local Government Finance on June 22. The board will conduct a public hearing before the Adams County Council at 8 a.m. Aug. 28 for preliminary approval, with final approval tentatively scheduled for 8 a.m. Sept. 17. Mayer will also report on the recent flooding in the county and how the county handled sandbagging and other mitigation efforts.
    The final item listed on the agenda is SWMD Attorney Tim Baker’s report.
