The Wayne Generals were served a cold, wet bus ride home from Bellmont Saturday after losing to the Braves in two games. Bellmont senior Brady Manis got the first win from the pitchers mound, and Nick Teeple won the second.

Manis threw four innings against Wayne, allowing only two runs an d two hits, before Kobe Ortiz came in for relief.

The home team scored twice off errors in the first inning, and led 6-2 by the bottom of the second inning. Nate Ulman hit a homer down the left line in the third inning to extend Bellmont’s lead.

Ortiz finished the first game with four Ks and only one hit.

The second game of Saturday’s double header was cut short to five innings as the rain came in, and Bellmont came out on top 4-0. Nick Teeple pitched the whole game without allowing a run. He gave up zero runs on six hits with seven strikes.

Nick Louis led the Braves with two hits in the second game. The Braves are now 6-3 and if weather allows, will play at Huntington North tonight for an NE8 matchup.
