The Brave 5 march to the Coliseum

Staff Writer

Five Bellmont wrestlers will attempt to keep Bellmont’s 30-year streak of qualifying for the state finals alive Saturday at the Coliseum, led by #1-ranked senior Jon Ruble and four other underclassmen for the Braves.

Ruble is a heavy favorite to advance past the ticket round, with only #8 Zian Constable of Peru in his quarter-bracket. The two wrestlers were in the same bracket at Mishawaka, but Constable was knocked out of the tournament after four rounds by Lowell’s Abel Verbeek, an opponent whom Ruble defeated 8-5 in the consolation semifinals.
