Bellmont loses close opener to Concrodia

Staff Writer

Having had their first two games of the year postponed, the Bellmont Braves were finally able to start their season on Tuesday night as they hosted the Concordia Cadets. It was the visitors who came out on top by a score of 48 - 46.
Coach Jonathon Fuelling told his team before the game, "Guys, we aren't guaranteed to play anything past tonight. Go out and play like it could be the only game we play this year." The team responded by coming out hot, hitting their first four three point field goals including the first two from Isaiah Wellman to open the game. That gave the Braves on an early 12-2 lead. However, when Wellman picked up his second foul, Concordia responded with a 19 to 3 run of their own to take a 21 - 15 lead at halftime.
