Arrest made in Decatur shooting; alleged victim in fair condition

    A Fort Wayne man is being held without bond in the Adams County jail following his arrest Sunday morning by Decatur police in connection with a shooting in Decatur.
    Daniel N. Booker, 30, Fort Wayne, has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
      According to a press release issued this morning by Decatur Police Department Detective Leonard Corral Jr., officers were dispatched at approximately 4:10 a.m. Sunday to an eastside apartment complex in regard to a shooting.
    Booker was apprehended fleeing the scene by law enforcement officers from Fort Wayne and Allen County.
    Booker was charged with the attempted murder of his acquaintance, Martika Valez, 22, of Decatur. Valez was transported to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, where she was listed in stable condition this morning, according to the press release.
    The investigation into the incident remains ongoing, police said.
