G. Frederick Dellinger, 94, of Decatur, died at 10:15 a.m. Friday in Adams Memorial Hospital.
He was born on July 2, 1916, in Adams County to Frank and Pearl Everett Dellinger.
He married Marietta Meyer on January 18, 1936; she passed away on March 11, 2002.
He retired with 35 years of service at General Electric Co. in Decatur, where he served as a union official.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Decatur, Moose Lodge 1311 in Decatur, and General Electric's Quarter-Century Club, and was a former member of the Adams County Horseshoe League.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Don (Marlene) Melching of Decatur and Carol Clouse of Fremont, Indiana; two sons, Richard "Steve" Dellinger (and wife Nancy) of Hilliard, Ohio, and Herman "Lynn" Dellinger (and wife Pat) of Edon, Ohio; one daughter-in-law, Mary Helen Dellinger of Columbia City; one sister, Mrs. Doyt (Vivian) Bryan of Decatur; 16 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Frederick A. Dellinger; one sister, Bernice Craig; and three brothers: Melvin L., Alfred, and Orville Dellinger.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, with Rev. Loren Felabom officiating.
Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery.
Visiting hours are noon-3 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home, with a Moose memorial service at 6 p.m.
Preferred memorials are to the Cancer Angel Fund within the Adams County Community Foundation, to the Decatur Lions Club, or to the donor's choice.
