MONROE— The Garrett Railroaders led 6-0 after two complete innings on Thursday night at the Hangar, but Adams Central rallied for an incredible 19 runs on 13 hits in the final three frames to earn the 19-7 victory in five innings.
A three-run homer from Noah Follett seemed to set the tone for Garrett (1-13) and a two-run blast over the fence from Dillon Diehm made it 6-0 in the second but the Jets flipped the script and the bats came alive in the third.
After a strikeout started the bottom half of the third, Conner Lengerich stroked a solo homer that would start a four-run frame for AC that included three walks, a sac-fly from Kyle Baker, and an RBI single from Hunter Bates.
In the fourth, Lengerich struck again, this time with a two-run bomb to tie the game at 6-6 but Central was just getting started.
Cooper Hill and Isaac Soldner hit back-to-back singles, then a walk to Baker loaded the bases. With two outs, Bates hit a two-run single. Two batters later, Jaron Bittner and Lengerich each hit in two more with a single in succession. Hill's double in the same inning kept the two-out rally alive scoring two.
