A few days after the release of the NHC girls teams, the boys have been selected for the 2013-14 basketball season for All-Conference as Bellmont senior Cameron Bienz was honored on the second team.
After another brutal year in the NHC, Bellmont went 1-6 in the conference topping only East Noble (0-7) during the regular season. New Haven took the crown this season with a 7-0 mark, while Homestead went 6-1, Norwell 5-2, Carroll 4-3, Columbia City 3-4, and DeKalb 2-5.
Joe Ault and 6'8" sophomore big man Caleb Swanigan of Homestead were each named to the first team as was New Haven's 6'11" senior Steve McElvene and Jordan Hogue.
Kyle Mallers and Chandler White of Carroll were named to the first team as well with a pair of Norwell Knights, Drew Shively and David Vogel, earning the first-team nod as well. Cole Hartman of DeKalb was the final slot earner.
Along with Bienz on the second team is two each from Homestead, Norwell, and New Haven as the Spartans add Dana Batt and Tahj Curry, the Knights had Piercen Harnish and Austin Hayden honored, and the Bulldogs had Lowell Griggs and Jailan Wattley.
Other second-teamers included Columbia City's Mason Coverston, DeKalb's Dahlton Daub, and Carroll's Jeremy Kalonji. Brent Bales, Norwell's fifth starter, was the only player nominated for honorable mention (earned for getting at least two votes).
East Noble was not honored with a player on any list.
