Victor Henry Laux, 97, Geneva, passed away at 12:55 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 01, 2013, at Chalet Village Health and Rehabilitation in Berne.
He was born Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1915, in Bryant to the late Joseph and Frances (Wellman) Laux. He married Fay Weaver Oct. 11, 1940; she passed away Dec. 5, 1999.
Victor was an United States Army Veteran, serving during WWII in the European Theater of Operations. Victor was a member of the Decatur American Legion Post 43.
He retired in 1976 from GE in Decatur after 20 years of service. Victor was a member of St. Mary of The Presentation Parish in Geneva.
Victor is survived by a son, Larry (Nancy) Laux, Berne and a daughter, Janet (Tony) Lengerich, Decatur; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Rosie Laux, Salem Heights, Ohio and Esther Frisbie of St. Marys Ohio.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene Laux, Ray Laux and Joe Laux, and three sisters, Agnes Laux, Helen Montgomery and Bernice Eichelberger.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m.-9:45 a.m. Thursday at Downing and Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N Washington Street, Geneva.
Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's of the Presentation Church, 5790 E, 1100 S, Geneva, with Father J. Bosco Perera officiating.
Interment will follow in the St. Mary's Presentation Catholic Church Cemetery in Geneva.
