Jack E. Harker, 85, Decatur, passed away Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
He was born Wednesday, May 2, 1928, in Decatur, the son of the late Ira A. and the Wanda L. (Elzey) Harker. He married Dolores M. Steele May 8, 1955, in Roxana, Ill.; she passed away August 8, 1984.
Jack served in the United States Army from 1952-1954.
He retired in 1989 from General Electric in Decatur with over 21 years of service.
Surviving are his daughter, Linda (Roger) Bruce of Danville; and three grandchildren.
Jack was preceded in death by a son, John Harker, in infancy.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Decatur Cemetery with Pastor Jim Compton officiating and military honors conducted by the American Legion Post 43 of Decatur.
Friends will be received from 1-2 p.m., Tuesday in the Woodcrest Porter Auditorium.
Preferred memorials are to Adams Woodcrest Nursing Center.
