At this week’s regular weekly meeting of the Adams County Commissioners, Service Complex Maintenance Supervisor Dave Meyer reported his department has “incurred some unexpected expenses” within the last week at both the Service Complex and the county courthouse.
Meyer reported the sprinkler system compressor in the courthouse “went bad,” requiring emergency service. The defective compressor has been repaired, but Meyer informed commissioners that continued work on the aged system “will be expensive over time.” No sooner had that problem been resolved when “the air handler went out in the Service Complex,” Meyer said.
Both malfunctions added to Meyer’s responsibilities during a week when he was to have been on vacation. Meyer also reported he will be working Monday, a county holiday, as updates to the Service Center Complex HVAC system will be initiated. The day was chosen for the work since water to the building will have to be turned off for at least four hours to accommodate the needed repairs.
