BLUFFTON — Adams Central tennis finished off their regular season sweep of all sectional opponents they may face at Norwell on October 2 when they handed the Bluffton Tigers a 5-0 beating on Monday night on the road.
Andy Oliver had the match of the night against Bluffton's Aaron Sturgeon defeating the number three singles player in three sets 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 2-6.
At one singles, Jacob Weil downed Tiger frosh Mitchell Kuhlenbeck in two sets 6-1, 6-2, while at two Eric Ripley was a winner over sophomore Grant Prible 6-3, 6-1.
Ben Kaehr and Conner Lengerich paired off with Bluffton's Jake Garrett and Collin Barker to win at one doubles 6-3, 7-5 and at two doubles, Nate Timmons and Jared Lehman were winners over Mitchel Drew and Levi Eisenhut 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) surviving a second set tie-break.
The Jet reserves did their best to avoid their first loss of the season by earning their second draw moving their record to 7-0-2 on the year after a 6-6 tie with the Tigers.
Interestingly enough, the Tigers took all six doubles matches, while the Jets were winners of all six singles competitions.
Winning for the Jets (in order) was Ben Kahlert (6-1), James Weil (6-1), Zach Green (6-1), Tanner Roth (6-1), Bailey Coyne (6-0), and Jared Ripley (6-0).
The Jets host Churubusco tonight starting at 5 p.m.
