Dwight L. "Dewey" Brunner, 72, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.
He was born in Decatur on March 27, 1941 to the late Lester and Ethel (Bunner) Brunner.
Dwight was a dedicated, hardworking employee at Zollner Pistons, retiring after many faithful decades of service.
He was an advid outdoorsman who loved fishing, raccoon, squirrel and mushroom hunting as well as arrowhead hunting. He was a sports enthusiast and adored watching Indiana University Basketball.
Most importantly, Dwight loved God and he loved and treasured his family.
Among survivors are his wife of 53 years, Judith K. (Williamson) Brunner; two sons, Brett (Susan) Brunner and Jeffrey (Jodi) Brunner, both of Decatur; a daughter, Mia (Trent) Tumbleson of Monroe; seven grandchildren, Brittney (Brett) Sprunger, Elly (Ryan) Brunner, Demi Brunner, Mitch (Kristen) Brunner, Landon Brunner, Thaine (Erica) Tumbleson, Tanner (Breigh) Tumbleson; two great-grandchildren, Rowan Sprunger and Emerson Tumbleson; and four siblings, Larry (Marylou) Brunner, Sandy (Fred) Tumbleson, Barb (Tom) Roudebush and Jo (Joe) Reichart.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 13 at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, also at the funeral home, with Dr Robert Brink officiating.
Burial will follow at Decatur Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to Visiting Nurse of Northeast Indiana.
