Berne is one step closer to renovations of the city's sewer system after bonds for the project were reviewed and accepted Monday by city council.
The city received a estimates from Boze, McKinney and Evans Law Firm out of Indianapolis and Barnes and Thomburg law firm of Fort Wayne for bonds both with and without a Bond Anticipation Note (BAN).
A BAN is a short term interest-bearing security loan issued in advance of a larger, future bond. BANs are smaller bonds generally issued by corporations and governments to generate funds for a project.
