Virginia L. “Ginny” Braun, 83, of Decatur, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, May 22, 2013.
Ginny was born February 14, 1930, in Monroeville, to the late Frank and Frances (Vizard) Cagnet.
On November 4, 1950, she married Eugene A. Braun; he survives in Decatur.
Ginny was a 60-plus-year member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and the Rosary Society. She worked for International Harvester, CTS, North Adams Schools as a part-time school bus driver, and GE until 1993. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Women of the Moose.
Ginny enjoyed cooking, traveling and family time.
Among her survivors are five sons, Dennis (Julie) Braun and James (Donnette) Braun, both of Fort Wayne; Kenneth Braun, John Braun, and Shaun (Sherri) Braun, all of Decatur; daughter, Dianna (Randall) Vetter of Decatur; 10 grandchildren, Nick (Natasha) Braun, Clint Vetter, Janelle Braun, Brandon Braun, Casey (Katie) Vetter, Sommer Braun, Morgan Braun, Parker Braun, Hailey Braun, and Taylor Braun; three great-grandchildren, Adalyn and Rylan Braun and Kaylee Vetter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ginny was preceded in death by two brothers, Oris and John Cagnet.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home, with reciting of the Holy Rosary at 3:30 p.m. Visitation will also be from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, May 25, at St. Mary’s Parish Hall.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Father Dale Bauman will officiate.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to St. Joseph School or Masses.
