State Representative Matt Lehman was very positive about Indiana's future in his legislative update address given on Monday at a Chamber of Commerce luncheon held at Woodcrest.
Lehman, a Berne Republican who became a state representative in 2008, explained that the state operates on a two-year budget which is created on every odd-numbered year. Lehman said that for the first time since he has been in office, when the House of Representatives was preparing the budget during the month of April this year, it added money in some areas where it had made cuts in 2009 and again in 2011.
One of these areas is education, which will receive an additional $320 million.
