North Adams Superintendent Wylie Sirk gave his last State of the Schools address on Monday. In the address, he explained how North Adams uses technology as a tool to teach students "21st century skills" needed to accomplish their life goals.
Dr. Sirk has three children who were educated in the North Adams Schools and he thanked the administrators, teachers, and other employees who currently work or used to work in the school system for the work they do.
Using the North Adams Community Schools website — www.nadams.k12.in.us — Sirk showed his audience at a Chamber of Commerce luncheon at Woodcrest the excellent statistics and technology at North Adams. Most of the teachers have been trained in Project Based Learning, which presents complicated problems that requires students to develop 21st-century skills to solve.
