Marjorie J. Haggerty, 89, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
Marge was born in Craigville, Ind., on November 17, 1923, to the late Albert R. and Nettie N. (Strohm) Wolf.
On August 17, 1946, she married Thurman P. Haggerty; he preceded her in death on September 21, 2007.
Marge was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and the Builders Sunday School class. She was a homemaker and also worked for Yost, Dolco, Shifferly Auto Sales, Central Soya, and Decatur High School in the cafeteria.
Among survivors are son, Steven P. (Sheryl) Haggerty of Rocky Mount, N.C.; two daughters, Cynthia K. (Josef) West of Covington, Ohio, and Claudia J. (Edward) Karges of Van Wert, Ohio; a sister, Wilda M. Dailey of Ossian, Ind.; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Marge was preceded in death by a grandson, Andrew Haggerty. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, March 24, at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home, and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 25, at St. Mark's United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, also at the church. Rev. Michael Heinbaugh will be officiating.
Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to St. Mark’s United Methodist Church and Van Wert Inpatient Hospice.
