Decatur's annual Callithumpian Parade is scheduled to begin its journey through downtown at 6:57 p.m. Monday.
After forming in the areas around Stratton Place and Bellmont High School, the parade will travel west on Monroe St., then go south on Second St., eventually breaking up in an area around Five Points (Adams St. intersection).
Decatur industrialist Vic Porter will serve as parade grand marshal.
Awards will be presented at the courthouse square after the parade, including band trophies sponsored by Hoosier Pattern and float awards sponsored by Eichhorn Jewelry.
In addition, the Callithumpian Committee will present its usual three awards: grand marshall, patron and service.
Costume awards will be presented after the parade at the American Legion Post, Madison and First streets. To be eligible for the awards, participants must register from 6 to 6:30 p.m. at Riverside Center, where each will receive a wristband.
Currently, the National Weather Service is predicting temperatures in the 40s at parade time, with partly cloudy skies.
