The Adams Wells Crisis Center (AWCC) has announced that it will hold a "Cooking for a Cause" fundraiser this Friday from 6-9 p.m. at the Cross Creek pavilion.
A shelter representative said the event is about "People standing up against domestic violence and showing their support" and is open to the public.
"Cooking for a Cause" will feature 17 tables of food samples provided by 17 different cooks — from professional to amateur — who will prepare food for guests.
Also at the event, Adams County law enforcement officers from Decatur, Monroe, Berne and Geneva, some Indiana State Police officers, Adams County Prosecutor Chris Harvey and Adams County Coroner Leslie Cook, will give an hour of their time to provide community service to the winning bidder at an auction.
AWCC Executive Director Angie Gunsett said the officers will provide various services from picking up dog droppings to detailing cars.
Tickets to the event are $15 each or two tickets for $25.
