South Adams' girls golf hosted their annual invitational at the Golf Club of the Limberlost in Geneva on Saturday with a seven field team including the team champion Wabash Lady Apaches who won the event by 12 strokes over Fairfield who finished second.
Wabash ended with a team score of 373, good enough for the team crown ahead of the Lady Falcons of Fairfield who shot a 385 collectively. The Bellmont Squaws were third place with a 401, the host team Lady Stars were fourth with 417, Jay County shot a 455, Eastbrook a 473, and Mississinewa earned the caboose with a score of 492 on the day.
Individually, Mary Shipley of Fairfield had the round of the day shooting an impressive 78 on the course, while Katie Smith (83) and Jordan Rauh (90) took second and third for Wabash respectively. Kelsie Robison was fourth with 94 from Fairfield, while Bellmont's Rachel Klingensmith shot a 97 to round out the top five.
Other notable finishes for the two county schools include Macy Phegley and Julia Brewer(101) finishing in a tie for eighth and Abbie Fisher finishing 11th with a 102. Sophomore Alaina Johnston shot a 103 for 12th place.
