The BMS Braves wrestled in the Northeast Hoosier Middle Level Conference tournament last Thursday night. The Braves found themselves in first place by night's end with nine first placers, four seconds, two thirds, and four fourths.
The team dominated as they scored 443 points compared to Indian Springs' 312.5 points in second place. Carroll finished third with 247 points and DeKalb had 219 good enough for fourth. Maple Creek, Woodside, East Noble, Summit, New Haven, and then Norwell rounded off the final places.
Individually for the Braves, Grant Gutierrez (95), Anthony Busse (105), Caleb Hankenson (110), Jordan Amacker (115), Daniel Gunsett (120), Austin O'Campo (130), Carter Friedt (155), Drew Butler (175), and Cody Fields (230) all were champions, while Mason Mendez (85), Danny Baker (125), Bryce Baumgartner (135), and Mason Shinabery (165) each took a second place for Bellmont. Landing in third places were Greg Shoaf (75) and Gavin Siefring (100), and the Braves picked up four fourths with Cole Coshow (90), Nick Potter (145), Jose Garcia (200), and Chandler Clay (260).
