Dortha M. Hirschy, 89, of Decatur, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2012, at Woodcrest Nursing Center.
She was born on August 26, 1922, in Adams County, to the late Forrest and Lessie (Watkins) Ray.
On December 6, 1941, she married Wayne H. Hirschy.
Dortha was a member of Monroe United Methodist Church and retired in 1985 from C.T.S. in Berne after 21 years of service.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne H. Hirschy, of Decatur; three sons, Jerry (Alice) Hirschy of Monroe; David (Libby) Hirschy of Peoria, Ill.; and Keith (Gina) Hirschy of Pikeville, N.C.; two daughters, Jo Ann (Bill) Strait of Monroe and Phyllis (Jim) Stauffer, of Yorktown, Ind.; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Fritz Ray; two sisters, Margaret Beitler and Helen Parrish; and a great-grandson Drake Hill.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22, at Haggard-Sefton and Hirschy Funeral Home, and one hour prior to services at the church.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 23, at Monroe United Methodist Church, with Pastor Troy Green officiating.
Burial will be in Spring Hill (Backesto) Cemetery.
