Andy’s Coney Bar will hold a fundraiser from 6-10 p.m. this Friday at the Knights of Columbus Pavilion, 1703 High St., Decatur.
Employees of Andy’s, which opened in Decatur a little over a year ago, will be serving coney dogs, chili and old-fashioned root beer on Friday. Also planned, organizers said, are sales of cotton candy, children’s activities, a silent auction, raffles and more.
Super Bowl memorabilia will be available for the auction.
The business was developed by Birthday Ministries of Decatur, which organizes ways for people with special needs to obtain jobs so they feel a sense of purpose and fulfillment in their lives, according to a news release.
Since opening, we have had the honor of many of Decatur's finest residents with special needs working in the restaurant on a regular basis," a spokesperson said.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will be split between the Coney bar and the local Hope Clinic.
Andy's is owned by St. Mary's of The Assumption Catholic Church but created as a ministry to serve all of Decatur!
