The fifth grade St. Joe boys played two games over the weekend and came away with two victories to bolster their record back to .500 with a 6-6 mark.
In the first game, the Coms took out St. Vincent on the road in a close match, 28-25. Luke Strickler led the way with a big game. He scored 18 points, six rebounds, two assists, and three steals in the contest. Noah Macklin was in the mix with eight points, four boards, and an assist. Brevin Slusher finished out the scoring with a bucket and three rebounds. Also on the boards was Cam Voglewede and David Noetzel with four rebounds each.
In the second game, St. Joe defeated St. Jude at home, 24-19. The score was very balanced for the Coms with five players scoring four points including Strickler, Slusher, Macklin, Noetzel, and Corey Miller. Nick Teeple and Vogelwede also got on the scoreboard with a basket a piece. The coach also praised Teeple for a stellar defensive effort.
The St. Joe eighth grade Lady Commodores saw action on Saturday against St. Jude in a CYO competition. The girls lost the game 32-23 and dropped to an even 5-5 on the season.
Maddi Malone led all scores with 14 points on six for 11 shooting from the floor with five rebounds. Andi Schultz, Victoria Diaz, and Beka Wilder added three points each for St. Joe. Diaz had six boards in the game, with Wilder pulling down three and Devin Moser snatching two.
St. Joe will be at home against a tough St. Charles squad this Saturday.
