Levi A. Hilty, 52, of Monroe, passed away at 2:12 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur.
He was born on Monday, December 7, 1959, in Adams County, to Andrew and Amanda Hilty, of Monroe.
Mr. Hilty was a part owner of Hilty Home Sales in Monroe and suffered from Muscular Dystrophy.
He was a member of the Old Order Amish community.
Survivors include his mother, Amanda Hilty, of Monroe; four brothers, Jerome A. (Bertha) Hilty, of Berne; Martin A. (Elizabeth) Hilty, of Monroe; Eldon A. Hilty, of Monroe; and Ernest A. Hilty, of Monroe; two sisters, Anna A. (John K.) Schwartz, of Monroe; and Lucinda A. Hilty, of Monroe; 29 nieces and nephews; and 98 great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew A. Hilty; three brothers, Mahlon Hilty, Daniel Hilty, and Joseph A. Hilty; and one sister, Mary Ann A. Hilty.
Visitation was held on Sunday at the Hilty residence, located at 1891 S. 100 E., Monroe, and continues today from 9 a.m.-8 p.m.
Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. today at the Hilty residence.
A service to celebrate Levi's life will be held at his residence at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, January 10, with Bishop Jacob M. Shetler officiating.
Internment will be at Schwartz Cemetery in Monroe.
