Mary Ann Narkter, 88, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2012.
She was born in Decatur on November 14, 1923, to Raymond and Mary A. (Meyer) Voglewede.
Mary Ann was an active member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church for many years, serving in the choir, and as a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She served four years as a stenographer for the Army-Navy Specification Branch at Wright Field during WWII.
She is survived by six children, Anna Marie Green of New York; Ronald (Dori) Nartker of West Carrollton, Ohio; Timothy (Janet) Nartker, Dayton; Dennis (Beckie) Nartker, Somerset, Ky; Madonna (Clint) Corwin, Tipp City, Ohio; and Thomas (Karen) Nartker, West Milton, Ohio; two sisters, Joan Heimann and Rosie Gase; three brothers, Donald, James and Gerald Voglewede; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her son, Mark; and brother, John Voglewede.
The family will receive friends from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2012, at the George C. Martin Funeral Home, Northridge Chapel, 5040 Frederick Pike at Needmore Road, Dayton.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 9, 2012, at 10:30 at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 220 W. Siebenthaler Ave., Dayton. Father Joshua Otusafo, celebrant. Cremation will follow.
