Jerry D. Feasby Sr., 68, of Monroeville, died at 9:30 p.m. Thursday in Vibra Hospital in Fort Wayne following an illness of three weeks.
He was born on December 3, 1943, in Van Wert County, Ohio, to Willis K. and Mrytle M. Baker Feasby, who are deceased.
He married Sharon S. Putman on August 6, 1983, in Monroeville; she survives.
Jerry was a 1963 graduate of Monroeville High School. For the past five years, he served as the commander of the Sons of the American Legion at Post 420 in Monroeville and, for 22 years, he was a member of Legion Post 420.
He was also the president of the Villa Nova Community Association.
In 1999, he retired after 36 years as an overhead crane operator and die-maker at the Phelps-Dodge Magnet Wire plant in Fort Wayne.
Other survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Roger (Julie S.) Zelt of Hoagland; three sons, Jerry D. Feasby Jr. (and wife Susan), Jeffery D. Feasby, and Joey D. Feasby, all of Monroeville; one stepson, Douglas M. Shinabery (and wife Kelly) of Decatur; two sisters, Cleotha L. Hart and Donna L. Martin of Monroeville; three brothers, John H. Feasby of Fort Wayne; Harold J. Feasby of Van Wert, Ohio; and Wayne E. Feasby of Payne, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Feasby, and a sister, Opal Marquardt.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home's Jacobs Chapel at Monroeville, with Pastor Brent Hickman officiating.
Burial in Monroeville Memorial Cemetery.
Visiting hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday in Jacobs Chapel.
Preferred memorials are to the Monroeville Volunteer Fire Department or to the Monroeville Church of the Nazarene.
