Mildred R. Elliott, 94, of Decatur, died at her residence on Monday, December 5, 2011.
She was a daughter of Edward L. and Maude M. Kurt Johnson, born in Decatur on June 27, 1917.
On December 3, 1934, she married Carl W. Elliott, who preceded her in death on May 5, 1979.
Mildred was a homemaker who also worked at the Bag Service company in Decatur and in a local laundramat. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Decatur.
Surviving are three sons, Carl W. Elliott Jr. (and wife Susan) of Decatur, James A. Elliott (and wife Kay) of Indianapolis, and Max I. Elliott (and wife Linda) of Fort Wayne; three daughters, Mrs. James (Beverly J.) Riley of Marion and Mrs. John (Phylliss J.) Brunner and Helen J. McDonald, both of Decatur; two sisters, Louise Hart and Jean Liby of Decatur; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, a grandson, two sisters, and three brothers.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Haggard-Sefton and Hirschy Funeral Home, Decatur, with Rev. Whitney West officiating.
Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery.
Visiting hours are 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Haggard-Sefton and Hirschy Funeral Home.
Preferred memorials are to Family LifeCare of Berne or to First Baptist Church in Decatur.
