Bellmont High School will present this weekened “Anne of Green Gables," the story written by L. M Montgomery, adapted into a stage play by Alice Chadwicke and presented through special arrangement by Samuel French, Inc.
Performances will be presented on at 7 p.m. Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Reserved-seat tickets ordered in advance are reserved seat tickets are $6 for adults and $5 for students and seniors citizens. Reserved seats are in the lower section of the theatre.
General admission tickets — in the upper mezzanine areas — are $5.
Tickets orders can be made by calling Jeannie Smith at BHS: 724-7121, ext 4. Tickets purchased at the door will be $2.00 more and will be available one hour prior to each performance in the Bellmont Commons. For the best seats and prices, call and reserve your tickets in advance, play organizers said.
"Anne of Green Gables" tells the story of Anne Shirley, an orphan who is adopted by brother and sister Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert in the early 1900s. The Cuthberts wanted a boy, but, instead Anne is sent to their home. Their life is turned upside down by this spunky girl with a vivid imagination. Life at Green Gables is never be the same after Anne arrives.
A dedicated group of Bellmont students forms the cast. Anne is played by junior Jamie Schueler, while her champion and kindred spirit, Matthew Cuthbert, is played by senior, Ethan Lichtle.
