Decatur's Callithumpian festival hits the fan this weekend, with all sorts of activities scheduled leading up to Halloween Night and the Callithumpian Parade.
The Halloween Healthfair was held at Adams Memorial Hospital this morning, and a new event is scheduled tonight: Haunted Decatur Wagon Tours.
The "spooky but family-friendly" tours will leave the courthouse at 6, 7, 8 and 9 p.m. Tickets are $8.50 for ages 16 and over, $6.50 for 5-15, while kids 4 and under ride free. Tickets are available at the Chamber of Commerce and discount tickets are being sold by participating local sponsors.
The action swings to high gear on Saturday, with a craft show and bazaar, quilt show, a poker run and car show, Safe Trick or Treat, more haunted wagon tours, and the day's wrapup, the annual fireworks display.
Sunday will bring a second day of the quilt show, special bowling at Villa Lanes, the Callithumpian Canter and Fun Run, and the Trunk-or-Treat downtown. Citywide trick or treating will be observed from 6 to 8 p.m.
The weekend culminates with the Callithumpian Parade, due to start at 7 p.m.
