Lewis L. "Boose" Painter, 58, of Willshire, Ohio, died at 4:51 p.m. Saturday in Community Health Professionals In-Patient Hospice Center at Van Wert, Ohio.
He was born to Charles L. and Janette Crites Painter. His father died in November of 1990; his mother lives in Willshire.
On November 10, 1973, he married Gayla J. Marbaugh; she also survives.
He graduated from Parkway High School in 1972 and attended New Hope Church in Decatur, where he served on the administration team.
He retired from Weigand Construction of Fort Wayne as a superintendent on July 30, 2010, and also retired from Carpenters' Union Local 232, of which he was a member for 35 years.
Other survivors are two sons, Jade Painter (and wife Amanda) of Willshire and Jordan Painter (and wife Jenelle) of Decatur; one daughter, Mrs. Troy (Jamie) Temple of Ohio City, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Brad (Sherry) Adler and Mrs. Jon (Lisa K.) Caffee, both of Willshire; four brothers, John J. Painter (and wife Dixie) of Fort Wayne; Charles J. Painter (and wife Barbara) of Celina, Ohio; and Jeffrey M. Painter and Stuart R. Painter (and wife Michelle), both of Willshire; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in New Hope Church, Decatur, with visitation from 1-8 p.m. Wednesday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday in the church.
Preferred memorials are to Community Health Professionals In-Patient Hospice Center at Van Wert or to New Hope Church.
