Ronald D. Ellis, 61, of Decatur, died at 3:56 a.m. Friday in his residence.
He was born on April 14, 1950, in Decatur to Glenn L. and Hazel M. Buchanan Ellis. His father is deceased; his mother lives in Decatur.
He married Vickie Painter on February 28, 1976, in Decatur and she also survives.
He graduated from Bellmont High School in 1968 and was employed as a service manager at the Micromatic plant in Berne for more than 26 years.
He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Other survivors are two sons, Aaron C. Ellis of Decatur and Adam C. Ellis; one grandson, Alec C. Ellis; one brother, Barry Ellis (and wife Ruth Ann) of Fort Wayne; and two sisters, his twin, Mrs. John (Connie) Emery of Tucson, Arizona and Mrs. Jim (Susan) Ousley of Round Rock, Texas.
Private family funeral services will be held at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, with military rites by the color guard from American Legion Post 43 in Decatur.
Preferred memorials are to the marching band at Adams Central High School.
