Adams County 4-H and extension service officials have announced that Mark and Jeanene Neuenschwander of rural Berne have been chosen as grand marshalls for the 2011 Adams County 4-H Fair Parade.
The parade will start at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19, in Monroe.
The Neuenschwanders have a combined total of 32 years of service as Adams County 4-H volunteers: 17 years for Jeanene and 15 years for Mark. They are currently the Wabash Cloverleaf 4-H Club leaders.
Mark has been the Adams County Rabbit Club leader and has served on the county 4-H Council, while Jeanene has served as the South Adams Mini 4-H Club leader.
The Neuenschwanders have also been heavily involved in other community affairs, officials said.
They are active members of Grace Bible Church, where Mark has carried out duties on the Mennonite Choral Society Committee, the church council, the Christian Education Committee, the Music Committee, and the Missions Committee. Jeanene has also been on the Mennonite Choral Society Committee and the Christian Education Committee and has been active in the Ladies' Ministries group. Both are Sunday School teachers, Mark has served as Sunday School superintendent and choir director, and Jeanene has been the church pianist.
In addition, Mark has been a Wabash Township Advisory Board member as well as secretary of that board.
They have four children: Elise, Marie, Brent, and Shana Neuenschwander.
