Drake Thomas Hill, 21, of Wren, Ohio, died Friday night following a traffic accident on Piqua Rd. near State Rd. 101 in Adams County.
He was born on August 17, 1989, on Decatur. His father is Thomas J. Hill (and fiance Jaime Zimmerman) of Monroe and his mother is the former Tonya J. Hirschy, now Mrs. Jeff Hoffman of Bluffton.
He was a 2008 graduate of Adams Central High School, a member of Monroe United Methodist Church, a member of Carpenters Union Local 232 in Fort Wayne, and a construction worker for the SGI Group in Fort Wayne. He was in the process of completing coursework necessary to get a journeyman certification.
Other survivors are his fiance, Kristen Everett of Wren; three brothers, Jace A. Hill and Dane S. Hoffman of Bluffton and Elijah T. Hill of Monroe; a sister, Ashlynn Abell of Monroe; the maternal grandparents, Jerry and Alice Hirschy of Monroe; the paternal grandfather, Eugene Hill of Decatur; and the maternal great-grandparenrs, Wayne and Dortha Hirschy of Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Betty Hill.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, in Zion Lutheran Church of Decatur, with Pastor Phil Pfeifer officiating.
Burial will be in Ray Cemetery, rural Monroe.
Visiting hours are 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the church.
Preferred memorials are to the donor's choice.
