Wanda P. Neadstine Fugate, 100, who lived in the Monroeville area for more than 60 years, died at 10:32 a.m. Sunday in the nursing center at Woodcrest Retirement Community of Decatur.
She was born on September 28, 1910, in Dixon, Ohio.
She married Howard J. Fugate on July 10, 1937, in Monroeville; he passed away on March 16, 1994.
Wanda was a homemaker who also operated Fugate's IGA Store in Dixon from 1937-48.
Wanda was a member of Monroeville United Methodist Church, serving as treasurer of the Women's Society for 20 years. She also was a former member of and treasurer of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 205 in Monroeville and was a member of Eastern Star Trinity Chapter 576 at Fort Wayne.
She enjoyed crocheting afghans.
Surviving are one great-niece, Darlene Ricci of Fort Wayne; one great-great-niece, Kristie Muench of Fort Wayne; and one nephew, Byron Plumley of Denver, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Ilo Plumley, in 1981.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home's Jacobs Chapel at Monroeville, with Rev. Ralph Klinker and Pastor Mark Walus officiating.
Burial will be in Monroeville Memorial Cemetery.
Visiting hours are 4-8 p.m. Thursday in Jacobs Chapel.
Preferred memorials are to the Emergency Medical Service unit at Monroeville, the Monroeville Fire Department, Family Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeast Indiana at Berne, or the donor's choice.
