Adams Public Library will offer audiobooks and eBooks available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, starting Monday, February 28. The books will be available from the library’s website, www.apls.lib.in.us.
According to library Director Kelly Ehinger, the eIndiana Digital Consortium collection offers best-selling novels, well-known classics, self-improvement guides and more.
Library cardholders can browse the collection, check out with a library card, and download books to their home computer or most mobile devices.
Titles can be enjoyed immediately or transferred to a variety of devices, including iPods, Sony Readers, Nooks and others. Some audio titles can also be burned to CD, said Ehinger. A list of compatible devices can be found at http://www.overdrive.com/resources/drc/ .
Free software available through the library’s website is needed to get started. Titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending period, and there are no late fees.
"With hundreds of popular fiction and non-fiction titles to choose from, the new collection is guaranteed to have something for everyone," said Ehinger.
The new service is free with an APLS resident, non-resident or PLAC library card. For more information, call the library, 724-2605 in Decatur or 368-7270 in Geneva.
