Donald E. Kipfer, 84, of Bluffton, died at 3:55 p.m. Friday in Bluffton Regional Medical Center.
He was born on August 10, 1926, in Adams County to David and Fannie Reinhart Kipfer.
He married Norma Jean Lautenschleger in Decatur on March 25, 1950; she survives.
He was a group leader at Franklin Electric Corp. in Bluffton for 30 years, until retiring in 1988. He also worked for Steve's Landscaping for 10 years.
He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, from 1952 to 1954.
Other survivors are two sons, Ronald D. Kipfer of Craigville and Wayne E. Kipfer (and wife Lisa) of Bluffton; two granddaughters, Mrs. Brandon (Natasha) Mechling and Mrs. Dan (Sahara) Lautzenheiser; and two great-grandchildren, Collin and Aschlyn Mechling.
One sister, Pauline Fiechter, and one brother, Arthur Kipfer, are deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Goodwin Memorial Chapel at Bluffton, with Pastor Jerry Flueckiger officiating.
Burial will be in Apostolic Christian Cemetery of Bluffton, including military graveside rites by American Legion Post 111.
Visiting hours are until 8 p.m. today and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Goodwin Memorial Chapel.
Preferred memorials are to Christian Care Retirement Community at Bluffton.
